Topic: New Placement Packet & Comfort Calls

This month’s West County Hub will feature a two-part presentation from Ventura County Children and Family Services on important policy matters! We will have plenty of time for questions and answers!

Part 1- New Placement Packet presented by Ivon Sanchez, LCSW Administrative Specialist III
Ventura County Children and Family Services has updated the existing Foster Family Home Placement Packet in order to reflect the agency’s current business practices and expectations for caregivers.
The goal is to ensure:
 Caregiver(s) have the necessary information to best meet the needs of children in out of home care
 Information is in line with the Resource Family Approval Program and the Quality Parenting Initiative

Part 2- Comfort Calls presented by Mirna Pina, LCSW, MSPH Community Services Coordinator
Comfort calls are phone calls between a caregiver and parent after removal or upon arrival of a child to a caregiver’s home to allow parents to share information directly with a caregiver about the day-to-day needs of
the child and to support a positive co-parenting relationship. Come, learn more about Comfort Calls, and get your questions answered! Participants will receive certificate for 2 hours of training upon completion of the class.
